What is edgeX#
In this tutorial, we will explore the recently emerging edgeX—
- edgeX, as the first MVP in the market, adopts an order book model, aiming to provide users with the experience and features of centralized exchanges while allowing for self-custody of assets.
- edgeX focuses on on-chain financial infrastructure for liquidity and trading, combining the performance of CeFi with the security and transparency of DeFi, with the goal of building a complete on-chain financial system.
- The edgeX team members come from well-known exchanges such as Barclays, Morgan Stanley, Bybit, and HTX, and are developing multiple applications based on trading and liquidity.
Security of edgeX#
The edgeX account system is built on the ETH mainnet. To facilitate users, it has integrated a recharge channel on the ARB chain with very low gas fees and uses its own liquidity pool to transfer funds to the mainnet for free. Regardless of which chain users recharge through, the final funds are stored on Ethereum ETH, aiming to maximize the security of user funds.

Detailed Tutorial for edgeX#
Step 1: Email Registration#
Visit the official website in your mobile browser. Note, it must be opened in a mobile browser; the email input box may not display on a computer link.
- Enter a commonly used email, click the “Confirm” button—> enter the 6-digit verification code received in your email to complete registration.
- Click the “Android APK” button at the bottom to download the installation package and install the app as prompted. iOS users need to download TestFlight first, then install the trial package.
- After installation, click “Connect” on the homepage and select “Email Login.”
Step 2: Complete the First Recharge#
After logging in, click the green “Recharge” button in the upper right corner to enter the recharge page. edgeX defaults to support low-fee Arbitrum chain recharges, and the platform automatically generates a unique secure wallet address, for example: 0x93c57911d2eE4B3cB9C12e31c3Be2f3eD71d52ba (your address will be different).
It is recommended that beginners recharge at least $100 to receive a 5-point reward. Points are valuable and may be exchanged for token airdrops at a 1:1 ratio in the future, so cherish your new user status.
Method 1: Recharge from Wallet#
As a decentralized exchange, edgeX only supports on-chain recharges. If you have a cryptocurrency wallet such as Metamask, TokenPocket, Rabby, or Backpack, and there are funds (like USDT) in the wallet, simply switch to the Arbitrum chain and transfer to your edgeX address.
Method 2: Recharge from CEX#
If you are new and do not have the above wallets, you can recharge to edgeX from centralized exchanges (CEX) like OKX, Bitget, etc. Refer to the article https://heiyetouzi.xyz/zhifubao-btc/ Register --> Identity Verification --> Bind Bank Card or ZFB/WX --> Recharge RMB.
It is recommended that beginners choose Method 2, as wallets like Metamask involve cross-chain operations, which are complex and have high fees. As shown in the image, withdraw $101 from OKX to the edgeX address 0x93c57911d2eE4B3cB9C12e31c3Be2f3eD71d52ba, with detailed steps, approximately 10 minutes for arrival:
【Note】When withdrawing, be sure to select the Arbitrum chain, and the address should be your edgeX address. The USDT amount must be greater than $100 (approximately 700 RMB).
Step 3: Trade to Earn Points#
Once the recharge is credited, you can start trading. Set the leverage multiplier (up to 100x), choose the direction (buy/long or sell/short). Be aware of the risks: although trading has point airdrops, it involves fees and potential loss of principal, so do not over-invest.
Step 4: Airdrop Points#
Click the “Points” tab at the top to view the points earned from trading. Points are updated every Wednesday (UTC timezone), showing the total trading volume, points, and weekly ranking for the past week. Currently, there are fewer users, and normal trading can earn points (for example: 225 points, ranking 117), with a fee loss of about $5, providing good value.

I am a beginner and not very familiar with contracts. Does edgeX have spot trading?
Beginners are advised to try contract trading with small funds and low leverage. If contracts are not suitable, you can wait for spot trading to launch in February 2025. -
Can edgeX open both long and short positions?
You can create a sub-account in your wallet to hold both long and short positions simultaneously. Switch accounts while operating for a good experience. -
Why is there a USDT balance in my wallet, but I cannot recharge to edgeX?
Check if your wallet has a small amount of ETH on the Arbitrum chain for gas. If not, you need to swap or bridge from another chain. If you are unfamiliar, it is recommended to recharge through CEX (refer to Step 2).
